Other NYC Area Running Groups
Many of our club members belong to other running clubs and organizations as well: Black Girls Run, Latinas in Motion, Front Runners, Prospect Park Track Club (PPTC), Van Cortland Track Club (VCTC), Inwood Hill Runners and many more.
Some of these clubs require membership fees... some have pace requirements... some offer paid training programs... some welcome guests at their midweek runs... some are completely free and you can just show up to join them whenever you like!
Be aware that most other running programs in the New York City area require continuous running, only including occasional "walk breaks" as needed, vs. the Galloway run-walk-run method, where the walk interval is included from the beginning, and is as important as the run interval.
Many groups -- both formal and informal, such as the non-Galloway NYC runs from Jackrabbit -- also have pace requirements of at least 10 minutes per mile, so be sure to check with the program leader first to be sure you can keep up without hurting yourself... or holding them back.
